Established in 1985 under a special enactment by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Alagappa University is situated on a vast 440-acre campus in Karaikudi. The university was founded by the visionary Dr. Alagappa, a respected educationist and philanthropist, and has since evolved into a prominent center for higher education in the region. It encompasses 2 constituent colleges, 9 dedicated academic centers, and 44 departments serving students across the Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts.
